Hiroshima
69 years ago this month (August 6th, 1945) the American B29 bomber Enola Gay dropped an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima. It detonated at an altitude of 600m and 160m south-east of this building, the Hiroshima Prefectural Industrial Promotion Hall, killing thousands of people instantly. This building remains as it did on that fateful day as a memorial to those lost. Visiting this site and the museum/memorial building near by was an emotional experience, but something I’m glad I did.
