Mediterranean Sky
We guided our bikes down a steep hill towards a small white stone cathedral. A flat patch of grass provided just enough space to set up our 3 tents for the night. The sun had set long ago, bright lights on the horizon shone from the port of Piraeus reminding us that Athens was only a days ride away. In the waters below us was an eerie sight, a cruise ship laid on its side, as if it were sleeping through the night. The ship, named Mediterranean Sky, was abandoned years ago. It sat in the waters off the port of Piraeus before it started taking on water. The ship was then towed out to its current location where it slowly rolled over and has resided ever since. As the sun rose the following morning It provided for one of the most unique sunrises I have ever seen.
